The oldest film on JetVideos! Very interesting - nearly 30 years passed.
Was it 8mm or 16? 5 stars for content, 3 for filming skills - it was not so easy then (no autofocus, OIS, etc.).
Thanks for sharing it with us Karl! |

Kodak 16mm movie camera, that's all I remember. Camera was "borrowed" and only the second time I used it, so a lot of fumbling around with the learning experience. Thought some of the content (like you said) made the film worthwhile, so that's why I shared it ! |

That was the year I was born. Thank you so much for posting! I wish I could have been old enough to understand the aviation workd then as its was getting close to the end of the good old days so to speak. Must have been great to see all the classics! Thanks again! |

Thank you for this video, it brings back so many wonderful memories.
I remember in 1987 (I was 11) I was flying from JFK-CDG with Pan Am, and from the WorldPort I could see all this different airlines together, PIA, Olympic, Alitalia, TAP, Sabena, the Concorde!!...it was incredible! It was like a dream come true.
I know times change, but I wish terraces would open again in major airports.

Wow what a time capsule. I remember every one of those aircraft. My favorite shot was toward the end with the Twin Towers looming in a silhouette in the background. An amazing video I very happy to have been able to watch. Cheers. |

Growing up in Queens, and always wanting to be an airline pilot, I worked at JFK for Servair during high school just to be close to these great machines. During 1980 I was working the ramp at the IAB and can remember all the action, with the great shots in your video. You have really captured the true flavor of JFK during it's busiest time before regional jets. Today, as a Pilot for an airline that's in these video's, every visit to JFK is woven with the wonderful memories that your video contains. |

Thanks so much for sharing this look back at commercial aviation before noise abatement was a consideration. The allure of the times was the decibel levels of the aircraft and the all-too-familiar exhaust trail. And I agree with Great, seeing the Braniff colors brings back memories of the best time in my aviation history. Again, thanks. |
